Reflection
The standard asks teachers to be more professional in their field and can be in the leadership position in certain community. They also need to focus on the current research and professional practice of using certain tools or resources to promote learning.
The first artifact I selected for the standard is Literature Review of Mobile Learning: implications and challenges in education. The wide application of mobile learning has attracted more and more researches on mobile learning. From the recent research on m-learning, it can be found different focuses on application of education. In the literature review, I summarized the implications and challenges of the application of m-learning in education. It meets the standard of evaluating and reflecting on current research and professional practice to make use of existing tools or resources in support of student learning. When I wrote the literature review, I followed the professional method of format for literature review. I summarized the number of current research in different focuses of mobile learning. This method can help me with the future learning for other current issues and tools or resources.
The second artifact I selected for the standard is Instructional Technology Interview. The purpose of the interview was to know what the field of Instructional Technology can help us and others do and what kinds of career we can achieve in the future when we graduate. The direct experience of interviewee can help us well know the development of the position in reality. For the interviewee’s field was not the same as mine. I can learn how technology can help other majors’ instructors. It can promote my engagement in other fields to apply technology. Although it was the first interview, in the future more and more interviews will be carried out to help us know the degree of importance of technology in other fields and how these instructors grew professional.
The third artifact I selected is the summary of Constructivism Learning Theory. The summary concludes the principles, implications and applications of Constructivism. Constructivism is widely accepted by instructors. It emphasizes the learner-centered teaching theory and strategy. Learning is meaningful when students construct knowledge into their own cognitive structure. The learning theory is the foundation for many learning strategies and application of digital tools and resources. The artifact demonstrates the professional growth in instruction. With evaluation and reflection of current research on the learning theory, I tried to analyze the internal learning of learners and from the basic foundation to support students learning.
Future learning goals
In the future, I will focus on not only my own field community to show my effective use of digital tools and resources. I will also try to engage in other different fields to demonstrate the importance of digital tools and resources to promote learning. I will also learn more useful and new tools or resources to share with others and show the professional growth and leadership. Besides, the summaries of current issues for technology and research for certain digital tools or resources are also my focus. With these knowledge of implication or application of certain technology, tools or resources, I can better use each of tools and promote student learning.
